Although Lauren grew up knowing she wanted to be an attorney, she also had a keen interest in business and wanted to develop practical business acumen. Lauren pursued that interest and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis where she studied finance and international business. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Lauren then completed a dual degree program and earned her law degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis.

In law school, Lauren was an editor for the Journal of Law and Policy and participated in the Intellectual Property and Non-Profit Organizations Clinic where she helped individuals create non-profit organizations and protect intellectual property rights. She was a judicial intern for District Judge G. Patrick Murphy of the Southern District of Illinois and interned at the Securities and Exchange Commission where she participated in enforcement investigations. Lauren also received the CALI Academic Excellence Award for receiving the highest grade in her complex civil litigation course in law school.

As an attorney at Cates Mahoney, Lauren witnesses daily the impact that access to the court system and meaningful representation has on individuals. She values establishing relationships with clients and fervently representing those who were wrongfully injured by the actions of others. In doing so, Lauren hopes to provide some sense of closure or justice to her clients, giving voices to those who might otherwise not be heard.

When not dedicating her time to law practice, Lauren enjoys playing tennis and traveling.
